2007 NAHB National Green Building Awards Finalist scored silver by LEED-H guidelines and gold on the National Green Building Standard and earned a HERS 38.5 (meaning it uses 38.5% of the energy required by a comparable code home.) Active solar radiant floor w/ tankless LP water heater back up. Spray foam walls and roof. Energy Star windows and appliances. Wide roof overhangs provide shade in the summer while large amounts of south glazing let the sun warm the home in the winter. There's nothing new about this, the house needs so little energy to begin with so we don't have to work hard to supply what it needs
